Save Space With Triple Bunk Beds

Bunk beds have become common furniture in today’s crowded world. Commonly used are the double and the triple bunk bed. Any architect, builder or interior designer’s aim is to save space, accommodate as many things as possible within the minimum square feet. But how much ever you try to reduce certain things or furniture from the list of necessities, some are bound to remain. One such thing is a bed. If the members in the household are more, more beds are required, occupying more square feet of area. Rather than having two or three beds occupying the floor, why not stack them up and save some room? In hostels, dormitories, prison cells and even in children’s room it is a great option to stack the beds to form a bunk bed, supported by strong bed frames. Bunk bed frames are also called bedsteads having head, foot and railings on the side to prevent from falling and a ladder to climb to the upper bed.

Normally bunk beds have one bed stacked over another, i.e. double beds. But when the agenda is to save space why not have three. Triple bunk beds are thus common in use where there are more than two kids at home and many kids in hostels. Especially in small apartments where cost of homes are sky rocketing and you cannot afford to lose any space, triple beds are very handy. It is very much apt when there are three kids sharing a common room. This also gives the kids to spend more time with each other and if there is some small kid afraid of sleeping alone, could be taken care of. This is the same in a hostel as well.

Triple bunk beds are usually made of hard wood for the strength. According to the interiors of the room the color and decorations can be selected. There are many different varieties of various price ranges available in the market. Additional accessories like drawers, shelves, etc are also available. But safety is a major concern in the use of triple beds. The risk of fall and injury involved in using a triple bed is more. Another problem is regarding the space for the person lying on the third bed, breathing space might be less. So while selecting a triple bed care must be taken regarding the height of the room as well as the bed. Proper guardrail needs to be used on both sides for protection from rolling and falling off the bed. Ladder must be attached to the bed frame properly to avoid slipping.

There are different types of triple bunk bed. Some are L shaped, where the beds rather than being stacked over one another, is present at different angles, making it safer to use. They are also available in standard and loft models to suit different room space.
